Once the screen is touched, a voltage change occurs.  This voltage change is converted into signals that order the computer to operate.  Since it’s very sensitive to touch, a very light tap is enough to open up a program.  This makes it somewhat difficult to control.  Perhaps, touch screen laptops are not that advisable to older people.

There are so many brands of touch screen laptops.  You can start weighing your options on the screen finish.  Generally, there are two types of screen finish: the matter and the shiny (also called glossy).  Most users prefer laptops with matte finishes because they produce no glare and fingerprints.  There are laptops that still need a stylus or touch pen to work.  Some work perfectly without pens.  There are models that can be navigated in either ways.  Choose the one which makes you more comfortable.  You can also look for added features.  For instance, there are laptops that can recognize handwritings and convert them into digital texts.  Some laptops like the very recent one released by HP have multi-gesture features.  Meaning you can tap on two different locations at the same time and the laptop will recognize them both.
